A Giant Upset

Filed under Giants, Patriots, Upset, superbowl

I think that the stock for for depression medication might be going thru the roof today. I Know I am depressed I mean who wouldn’t be, We watched the Best team I have ever seen go 18-0 and Lose the Superbowl in stunning fashion.

You won’t even get me to bitch about a few calls or non calls by the Refs. BWOP made that comment on the game.

“7:09pm EST: OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD. Toomer caught that? No offensive pass interference? Wow.

“10:06pm EST: The New York Giants are your Super BLOW XLII CHAMPIONS.

Just kill me and fuck my dead body.”

So go check out BWOP.

I would like to hear an explanation as to why this crap happened. Brandon Merriweather falling on the ball and be touched by a Giant only to have them roll him over and take the ball away? WTF is up with that.

The Giants DESERVED TO WIN. They played Better than the Patriots did when it counted and thats all that really needs to be said. The Catch David Tyree made was amazing. I can’t figure out how he held onto it. Asante Samuels couldn’t neither could Rodney Harrison.

The Patriots had this game in their hands and for the first time this year they couldn’t make the play they needed to make.

The worst part is now we get to listen to NEW YORKERS who are always classy and Quiet when their teams win. Hope they feel better now that one of their teams won. Which is more than I can say for Dolphins fans and your gay bunch of Players from 72′.

This Asswipe Dolphins fan has this to say.

Once the game ended, it didn’t take much time for the sound of screaming and honking cars to drift through my window. And then it got louder and louder. Now, despite the fact that I’m prone to vicious streaks of misanthropy and often like to revel in my status as an outsider, I do enjoy observing the occasional act of communal celebration. So I put on my jacket and went for a short walk.
I remember the celebrating which happened on these very same blocks back when the Yankees won their World Serieses. I also remember the good-humored mayhem after Aaron Boone hit his home run in 2003.

Tonight was that times ten. Men, women, and children carousing in the streets. Some people running shirtless down the sidewalk, others running drunkenly in front of moving cars. One guy was already selling Giants Super Bowl Champions t-shirts on the street. But my favorite moment which I will always cherish from Super Bowl XLII: Just as I passed a deli, the owner came running to the sidewalk in a frenzy, holding tallboys of Bud in his hands, and yelling “Free Beer! Free Beer!” So I took one, thanked him, and kept walking. About a block later, I thought to myself that I hope he really was the owner of that deli.

Atleast the Patriots will make the Playoffs next year and the Dolphins won’t right? or is there something to that streak of Super Bowl Losers not making the playoffs the following year.

At least they are better than Eagles Fans right? Wait they now are going to investigate that superbowl also. Arlen Sphincter wants a congressional hearing? are you fucking kidding me?

Tonight is the Math which i won’t be playing since I do not like 6 max. Hope everyone that plays has a great time.

Congrats to the Giants and their fans. Enjoy it cause your team earned it.
Now I am going to go Kick my dog named Brady.

Peace

A Football weekend with out the Patriots is like

A Football weekend with out the Patriots is like,
You know, When you were younger and got sick and Had to watch the rest of the kids playing outside? that is what a Football weekend with out the Patriots is like.

I know they have a well earned Bye But I still miss them soo much. Being their #1 FAN boy and all. I mean they should just skip this week and we can just have the Patriots play the Colts in the AFC Conference Finals. Since we know thats who’s going to be there when it is all said and done.

Does anyone think that any of the teams in the NFC can beat the Patriots or the Colts?

My Picks

Washington at Seattle -3.5
A wise man named Zeem once told me never to bet against the SeaHawks at Home.
Pick Hawks.

Jacksonville at Pittsburgh +3
This is the Upset that I am hoping for. Since it is likely the Patriots will be getting the winner.
Lets Hope the Steelers can pull this one out at home. Yes the Jags beat them 3 weeks ago and yes the steelers are without Willie Parker. Lets Hope Big Ben can pull one out of his ass.
Pick Steelers

New York Giants at Tampa Bay -3
Giants played a great game last week, That being said Eli Manning still looks more like Drew Bledsoe than Peyton Manning. Take the Bucs they are rested and healty which is more than we can say about the Giants. They should have rested their starters now they will have plenty of rest.
Pick Bucs

San Diego vs. Tennessee +10
I think The chargers will win the game but not by more than 10. Yes the chargers have been on a roll but their QB sucks more dick than the College Call girl and their whiney little bitch of a Running Back will be Crying once again this year. Funny how the Patriots showed no class last year but the Chargers antics a few weeks ago drew no criticism from LT.
Pick Titans.

So there you have it. My Solid Lock picks, take it to the Bank Picks for this week.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys the games even though the Patriots aren’t playing.

Now Drop the Hammer

Peace
Billy

Patriots for everyone!!!

Filed under Mookie, Nfl network, Patriots, free

The NFL just sent out the following announcement regarding the Patriots-Giants game:

The NFL has arranged with broadcast television partners CBS and NBC for an unprecedented three-way national simulcast of the NFL Network telecast of Saturday night’s New England Patriots at New York Giants game when the Patriots will try to become the first NFL team to go 16-0 in a regular season, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced today.

“We have taken this extraordinary step because it is in the best interest of our fans,” Commissioner Goodell said. “What we have seen for the past year is a very strong consumer demand for NFL Network. We appreciate CBS and NBC delivering the NFL Network telecast on Saturday night to the broad audience that deserves to see this potentially historic game. Our commitment to the NFL Network is stronger than ever.”

CBS and NBC will carry the NFL Network feed of the game with Bryant Gumbel and Cris Collinsowrth in the broadcast booth. The game also will be televised by WCVB-ABC (Channel 5) in Boston, WMUR-ABC in Manchester, New Hampshire (Channel 9) and WWOR (Channel 9) in New York. The telecast begins at 8 p.m. ET with kickoff set at 8:15 p.m. ET.

This will be the first three-network simulcast in NFL history and the first simulcast of any kind of an NFL game since Super Bowl I in 1967 when CBS and NBC both televised the first meeting of the champions of the newly merged National Football League and American Football League. CBS was the network partner of the NFL at that time and NBC televised the AFL. In that first Super Bowl – in which the NFL Green Bay Packers beat the AFL Kansas City Chiefs 35-10 in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on January 15, 1967 – Ray Scott, Jack Whitaker and Frank Gifford called the game for CBS while Curt Gowdy and Paul Christman broadcast the game on NBC.

Against the 10-5 playoff-bound Giants, the 15-0 Patriots on Saturday night will seek to become the first NFL team to complete an unbeaten regular season since the Miami Dolphins went 14-0 in 1972. The Dolphins proceeded to win three more games, including Super Bowl VII, to finish 17-0 for the only perfect season in NFL history. The NFL regular season was expanded to 16 games in 1978.

The Patriots also are aiming for their record 19th consecutive regular-season victory dating back to the 2006 season. With six points, they also will become the highest scoring team in one NFL season, breaking the Minnesota Vikings’ total of 556 in 1998. Individually, quarterback Tom Brady (48) is in position to break Peyton Manning’s NFL record for most touchdown passes in a season (49 in 2004) and wide receiver Randy Moss (21) will set a new league mark if he catches two touchdown passes to surpass Jerry Rice’s 22 in 1987.

NFL Network is currently available on 240 cable systems, including Cox, plus satellite television providers DirecTV and Dish Network, and the telephone company TV services of AT&T U-VERSE and Verizon FiOS. But a few of the largest cable companies have refused to carry NFL Network on their most broadly distributed and affordable packages.

“NFL Network is a programming service of great interest to fans and should be broadly distributed by the cable industry,” said NFL Network President and CEO Steve Bornstein. “The only channel devoted 24/7 to America’s favorite sport is not programming that should be relegated to a poorly promoted, pay-extra sports tier that takes advantage of our fans’ passion for the NFL. A few of the biggest cable operators have refused to negotiate. We call on them to do what’s right for their consumers and negotiate agreements for NFL Network that make sense for everybody.”

I am still amazed it took the NFL this long to cave and show this game to everyone.
Since up until this afternoon if you didn’t get the NFL network you were fucked.

That Meant both my Brothers, one who lives in LA and one in Burlington Vermont, would be missing this Historic Game. It’s Not like the Patriots are going to lose so everyone should be watching.

Don’t forget about the Last Mookie of the Year. 10p.m. eastern on FULL TILT POKER.
