Arlen Specter Gives Up and Espn shows Bias
Welcome to the Donkey Show.
It seems Arlen( Sphincter) Specter has Finally come to realize what the rest of America has except for Mark Schlereth and Joey Porter. That there is nothing to investigate.
In a meeting with the Philadelphia Daily News editorial board on Monday:
the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, has criticized Goodell’s investigation and said he would like the league to conduct a more independent investigaton, much like Major League Baseball did with alleged steroid use by some players.
Specter said he didn’t call the matter before the Judiciary Committee because it already has “too much to do.” And he said he’s “not interested” in recent allegations made by former NBA referee Tim Donaghy that the league asked some refs to manipulate games to boost ratings or ticket sales.
Good job wasting the Taxpayers Money and Time a what was a self serving and Bogus Investigation in the first Place. I do find it interesting that he has NO INTEREST in looking into the Allegations of Tim Donaghy, I mean we have a Referee who is going to PRISON for fixing and betting on games but Senator Specter has NO INTEREST into looking at the NBA and their Crooked Refs. I guess the Philadelphia 76ers must not have been affected.
After all this man is all about finding out the Truth or Atleast when His Favorite teams are involved but Nothing for the NBA and the Scandal going on. Guess Comcast must not be interested since we know that they are his biggest Contributor and they had an axe to grind with the NFL.
If I was a Resident of Pennsylvania I would be Embarrassed to have this Dinosaur represent my state. He seems to have lost focus as to what is Important these days. How about looking into why we are Paying $4 for a gallon of gas or Why we are Mired in a war that doesn’t seem to have any end in sight. Better yet Investigate President Bush and His Cronies for Lying about the Reason for starting said war in the First Place.
There was this great article by Le Anne Schreiber about ESPN and their Coverage of the Whole Spy Gate debacle. “‘SportsCenter Specials’ too often just hot air on hot topics“
“When the special continued after the news conference, Carter and Schlereth still spoke with impassioned conviction about the game-changing, Super Bowl-changing use of tapes during games. On the 4 p.m. “NFL Live” show, Schlereth’s last words on the subject were, “There is an asterisk by this football team for the rest of history.”
At 5:30 p.m. on “PTI,” hosts Michael Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser had 90 seconds to sum up their reactions to the day’s Spygate news. Wilbon called it “the final and bogus chapter” of the “absurdly hyped” Spygate story. Kornheiser said, “This was nothing!”
Ninety minutes of one opinion, 90 seconds of another. That was the balance.”
Some readers and viewers were also bothered by the play given to an interview with Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter, a former Steeler who happens to share the Schlereth/Carter perspective.
“They [the Patriots] cheated, there should be an asterisk,” said Porter, whose remarks, made on the May 23 “NFL Live,” gained further mileage on “SportsCenter” and ESPN.com.
Why treat one player’s angry personal opinion on a league-wide matter as news? Why not solicit a wider range of opinion? Those were the questions those who wrote me wanted answered.
“On the day the tapes were released, we contacted every opposing team affected and not a single team would comment,” Stiegman said. “So one reason we ran the Porter story is that to this day, not a lot of people in the league — front office, coaches or players — will talk about it publicly.”
What is the Moral of the Story? Don’t believe that you are Getting Acurate and UNBIASED information from the Talking heads and So Called Experts as ESPN wants you to Believe.
Rest in Peace Spy Gate.
