“Heavyweight fighter George Bush has tested positive for marijuana following his decision loss to Ricco Rodriguez on April 11 in Atlantic City, N.J., at Yamma Pit Fighting’s debut effort, Sherdog.com learned Tuesday.
“I just found out a few days ago, and needless to say, I’m very surprised and disappointed,” said Bush, 26, who is still recovering from an ankle injury sustained in the opening minute of his bout with Rodriguez.
“I accept full responsibility for my actions, and I assure the fans that this will never happen again.”
Bush, 5-1, has been suspended by the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board for 90 days. He said he was not fined.
NJSACB Deputy Attorney General Nick Lembo offered no comment when contacted by Sherdog.com. Regulations prevent him from releasing drug-testing information to the media.”
